Malgr\u00e9 une relative richesse des ressources en eau, la forte croissance \u00e9conomique, la concentration urbaine acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e et la modernisation de l\u2019agriculture ont entra\u00een\u00e9, non seulement, un accroissement consid\u00e9rable des besoins en eau mais aussi un fort degr\u00e9 de pollution. Cette pollution s\u2019accentue en fonction d\u2019un certain nombre de facteurs, tels que l\u2019emplacement du cours d\u2019eau par rapport aux rejets des eaux us\u00e9es et l\u2019activit\u00e9 agricole.<br \/>\nPlusieurs facteurs conditionnent la progression de cette pollution, comme les concentrations des polluants dans les eaux us\u00e9es, la nature des sols et la lithologie. La pr\u00e9sente \u00e9tude vise \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer la qualit\u00e9 globale de l\u2019eau<br \/>\nde l\u2019oued Kebir Ouest et de ses principaux affluents et \u00e0 \u00e9valuer la variabilit\u00e9 spatiale et temporelle des polluants.
