The present study investigates the attitudes of seventeen teachers from the department of English at Badji Mokhtar University towards these two cognate forms. This issue has been explored through a questionnaire which was carefully designed to serve the purpose. The findings revealed the teachers\u2019 awareness of the necessity of acquainting Algerian university students with both British and American varieties.
